The Z80.Ninja project is:

• The Z80.Ninja Computer based on the 8-bit Z80 CPU from Zilog.
• NinjaCode: A full-featured Mac OS X development toolchain for the Z80.Ninja, and easily adaptable to other 8-bit CPU architectures.
• Free and open source (GNU GPL v3).
• Available on GitHub for your forking pleasure.
• My personal hobby project.

Project Goals

This is primarily an educational project. This project is all about ‘getting back to basics’ and demystifying software development fundamentals.

My hope is that this project will be fun (for me and you), educational, and maybe even helpful to your own project. Because the design of the system strives for simplicity, it’s worth mentioning that NinjaCode may make a decent starting point for your own 8-bit computer’s development toolchain needs. It should be easy to add support for additional hardware architectures, and I would be delighted to hear someone had done that for their own homebrew computer.
